INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS SEEKING FUNDING SUPPORT

The Australian Institute of Quarrying Education Foundation is a charitable tax - exempt organization that was created in 1982 to provide financial assistance for the development of national courses in quarrying and advanced educational and training initiatives for those involved in the industry.  Persons or organizations seeking funds from the Foundation are required to complete the attached application form and provide sufficient information to enable the Foundation’s Review Committee to properly consider the request and to assess the benefits that are expected to flow to the industry.

In reaching a decision, the Committee takes into consideration the education level at which the initiative is set and the number of people who could reasonably be expected to benefit from its outcome.  As the amount of money available is restricted to the earnings on the Foundation’s capital it may not be possible to provide funds for all requests, or all of individual requests, in a particular year.  It is important for applicants to understand that the Foundation’s charitable status is held conditional on the benefits derived from the use of its funds being available to all in the industry and not be confined to particular individuals or organizations.

The Foundation’s Review Committee normally meets in January, April, July and September to consider requests received by the Secretary by the end of the previous month. Applicants can expect a response by the end of the month in which the meeting is held.  Neither the Review Committee nor the Foundation’s Councillors will enter into discussion regarding decisions made on funding applications.

Please refer to the Foundation’s Secretary if further information is required regarding the completion of the application form.
